When she was a child she was enticed by the idea of becoming an actor. She moved to Los Angeles after graduating from University of Texas in order to become an actor professionally. Her first job was as a print model, and participated in commercials of various kinds. She made her TV debut as an extra in the series Friday Night Lights. In the beginning, she played small parts in television shows including A Thin Line Supah Ninjas as well as How I Met Your Mother. The actress began her film career at the same time. Her career got a huge boost in 2014. The actress was commissioned to play a mechanic named Raven Reyes on The 100 the American science-fiction TV series.
